The Essence of Making Magic Together
Sensual massage done correctly provides an obliteration of senses. Touch, sight, taste and scent. One key constituent is the massage oil used in sensual massage and the essential oils that we choose together to add to the massage medium.
Attention to detail is massively important to me. The choice of massage oil affects touch, it affects my ability to provide a relaxing and invigorating massage experience. Too much oil and we end up with a slippery, greasy experience and too little and pinching and unpleasant rubbing occurs.
I like to use only the best oils in massage. All my massage oils are high grade and extracted from naturally occurring plants. My favourite is almond oil, it’s slightly more oily and allows me to glide my hands easily over your skin. Almond oil is also non-allergenic making it a safe option too.
Another great choice is Jojoba oil which is a wax extract from the Jojoba plant. Jojoba oil is good for treating acne on the back. Having chosen the base oil, I am always keen to involve my clients in the choice of essential oils that are added to the base massage medium.
Essential oils fall into three categories, top notes like peppermint and eucalyptus which evaporate rapidly and are quickly absorbed by the skin. Middle notes are less aromatic, they produce a longer-lasting fragrance and include sage and thyme. Finally there are base notes like sandalwood that bring the blend together
One of my favourites is blended to promote emotional well-being and and sensuality. It is a blend of Clary sage, jasmine, vanilla, bergamot, ylang ylang and grapefruit. Clary sage soothes muscle tension, jasmine warms the body and heightens senses, bergamot relieves tension and elevates mood, vanilla heightens sense and elevates mood.
Ylang ylang elevates mood and relaxes and finally grapefruit contains antioxidants to improve skin health and promote detoxification.
Another great combination for mental clarity and providing a warming, uplifting experience is cinnamon, sweet orange, cardamom and coriander seed.
Aphrodisiac blends of essential oils include sandalwood and jasmine. Sore muscle blends include peppermint, ginger, black pepper and eucalyptus.
Whatever blends we choose, I am sure we will go on a sensual and magical journey together.
